Team MESS, 2009

Killing Don is both a performance and a party. A party somewhere between the celebration and lamentation of memory and nostalgia. A celebration of remembrance and a lamentation on its memorialisation. Through a collection of intimate performative encounters Team MESS explore personal crisis in remembering (even if we weren’t even there).

Killing Don was born out of an interest in why we remember that which we do and what effect a fixation on the past has on the present and future.

It’s New Wave drama under the pressure cooker. It’s a party.

Presented at Performance Space, 2009

Killing Don was developed with the assistance of Performance Space, Underbelly Public Arts Lab and The University of Sydney’s Department of Performance Studies.
